My Rejected Teaser Trailer for THE MAN WHO KILLED HITLER AND THEN THE BIGFOOT

November 23, 2025

Here’s something fun from my days in acquisitions and distribution for Epic Pictures, running their Dread Central Presents label, and as someone that had very strong opinions on the marketing of our titles.

Before the first trailer to THE MAN WHO KILLED HITLER AND THEN THE BIGFOOT was released, I had strongly advocated to release this 12 second teaser as the first official footage. No one had seen anything from the movie yet. They only knew the title, and there may have been a few stills. Sam Elliott is one of those actors that has this incredible face that says so much by him doing so little. We know at some point, we’re probably going to see him kill Adolf Hitler. And we can assume he’s also, eventually, going to kill the Bigfoot. So, I loved this exchange of dialogue.

“Was it a hit?”

“Yeah.”

“Where?”

“It’s head.”

“And it’s not dead?”

“Nope.”

And thought THAT should be our first teaser. (See below.)

Robert D. Krzykowski, the writer / director, was very, very protective of his film and how it would be presented, because he didn’t want people to see that title and think it was a spoof or comedic in any way. He wanted it to be taken seriously, because it was a serious film. I respect his decision even if I didn’t fully agree with it at the time, but my job was to fully support his, and all of our filmmakers, vision(s). I still think this is cool as hell! And if anything, I hope this inspires some new people to seek the film out. It’s a cool little cult classic!
