Watch This Drummer Play Every NIRVANA Album In 5 Minutes
July 29, 2016
The beautiful thing about the Internet, and in particular You Tube, is that if you search, you’ll uncover some of the most talented & incredible people in the world. We’ve shown you people rocking Metallica songs on banjo or Megadeth tunes on a custom made shovel. But for Kye Smith, he’s got a very specific, cool niche.
He’s a drummer that has made a series of “chronology” videos of artists such as Green Day, Blink 182, No Doubt, The Offspring, NOFX, Pennywise, Foo Fighters, The Beatles, and so on and so forth. He’ll do drum covers of just about every track from their official discographies in roughly 5 minutes or less. Personally, I discovered his channel because of the following video.
I’m a huge NIRVANA fan. And quite frankly, there’s nothing cooler than ripping through every song on their released album list in 5 minutes flat. Kye plays them all with ease, and kind of makes every track off their Sub Pop debut album “Bleach” sound even better! Check it out.
As I mentioned, he has an entire channel devoted to videos like the one you just watched. While most are 5 minute chronology picks of particular artists, he also does ambitious stuff like playing through every Epitaph Records and Fat Wreck Chords release. Keep tabs on his You Tube channel, and be sure to follow his Instagram page as well.
