One of the advantages of having so much access to just about anything via social networking sites and video outlets such as You Tube is you get to discover some of the most wildly inventive and talented people on the planet. Case in point: before yesterday, I had no idea who Rob Scallon was. But thanks to our friends over at Loudwire, I’ve just discovered a celebrated You Tube star that happens to be a musical genius.

Scallon is a ridiculously ambitious musician that has done everything from playing Metallica’s “Blackened” on Ukulele to “Masters Of Puppets” on banjo. He also mastered playing a one-string electric guitar made out of a shovel! And it’s with this epic instrument that he shreds the ever-loving F out of Megadeth’s thrash classic “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due.” Seeing is believing, fiends!

I watch videos like this and realize I just don’t practice my own musical instrument enough! The singer in that clip, by the way, was Leo Moracchioli, a You Tube sensation in his own right! Leo records covers of songs from his studio in Norway! You can check out his clips here.
