Greetings dear readers – Rob G here and I’m the co-creator of ICONS OF FRIGHT along with Mike C. We’re here to welcome you to the launch of our brand new creative endeavor MASSIVE HYSTERIA!

First of all, most of you visiting us here are probably familiar with the work we’ve done over the course of the last 6 years on ICONS OF FRIGHT; where we delved affectionately into the horror genre to deliver you extensive interviews with various talent, talked about everything from indie films to major studio pictures to comics & beyond, and discussed in detail every facet of the genre from long lost gems to grindhouse to schlock favorites. So why a brand new website then?

Well, we’re extremely proud of all the content we’ve been able to accumulate on ICONS specifically catering to the horror genre since our inception. But it was always our goal to eventually branch out and launch other ICONS related sites that centered on things like music (our short lived ICONS OF PUNK) to comic books, to comedians, art and more. Since we love all of these things, we figured it was time to start something that encompassed all of these topics under one banner. Hence, much like we did with ICONS OF FRIGHT 6 years ago, Mike C and myself conceived of MASSIVE HYSTERIA, a place where we could still deliver extensive interviews, retrospectives, reviews and the event reports you’ve come to love, but branch it out beyond horror to talk about ALL genres of film, as well as music, art, comics and more. Basically, if it’s cool and we feel we’d like to discuss it, then you’ll find it on MASSIVE HYSTERIA.

Bare with us in this early stages of this site as we try to get our footing. Yes, things are initially going to be somewhat horror centric since that’s the world we come from (we’ve got exclusive interviews with Darren Lynn Bousman, Marcus Dunstan & Adam Green), plus Halloween is right around the corner, but we’ve already got other things on the horizon such as an exclusive interview with SIX FINGER SATELLITE frontman J. Ryan and Mike’s retrospective on the entire AIRPORT series. And we’ll continue to grow and explore other pop culture subjects.

You’ll recognize a lot of the familiar contributors from the golden days of ICONS OF FRIGHT, as well as some fantastic new writers and also the occasional guest contributor from the film industry discussing their fandom and love of this stuff. So stick with us, the next few months of content is going to be something… of biblical proportions!
